Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice to prevent browning of apples
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon for flavor
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg optional, for extra warmth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch to thicken the filling
  • 1/4 cup water to help cook the apples
For the Cream Cheese Mixture
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for flavor
  • 1/2 cup whipped topping for lightness
For Serving
  • 1 package graham crackers for dipping
  • 1 cup sliced apples for dipping

Method
 

Prepare the Apple Filling
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the diced apples, lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cornstarch, and water.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender and the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly while you prepare the cream cheese mixture.
Make the Cream Cheese Mixture
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined and smooth.
  3. Fold in the whipped topping gently using a spatula until well incorporated.
Assemble the Dip
  1. In a serving dish, spread the cream cheese mixture evenly.
  2. Top with the warm apple filling, spreading it evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  3. Serve immediately with graham crackers and sliced apples for dipping.
