  • 8 slices sourdough bread or your favorite bread
  • 8 oz Brie cheese sliced
  • 1/2 cup apple butter store-bought or homemade
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter softened for spreading

Method
 

Prepare the Ingredients
  1. Slice the Brie cheese into thin pieces to ensure even melting during cooking.
  2. Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread. This will create a golden, crispy crust when grilled.
Assemble the Sandwiches
  1. On the unbuttered side of 4 slices of bread, spread a generous layer of apple butter.
  2. Layer the sliced Brie cheese on top of the apple butter, ensuring even coverage.
  3. Top with the remaining 4 slices of bread, buttered side facing out.
Cook the Sandwiches
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place the assembled sandwiches in the skillet.
  2. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, or until golden brown. Press down gently with a spatula to ensure even cooking.
  3. Carefully flip the sandwiches and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side, until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted.
Serve
  1. Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them cool for a minute before slicing in half.
  2. Serve warm, optionally with extra apple butter on the side for dipping.
