  • 1 cup medium-ground cornmeal
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • Cooking oil (for frying)

Instructions

  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, combine milk and the egg until smooth. Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined.
  3. Skewer each hot dog with wooden sticks and dip them into the batter until fully coated.
  4. Carefully drop battered hot dogs into the hot oil and fry for about 3-5 minutes until golden brown, turning occasionally.
  5. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve hot with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.
