  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Drop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets about two inches apart.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden but the centers remain soft. Allow to cool before serving.
