  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk, warmed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Warm milk until lukewarm and mix with yeast and a pinch of sugar. Let sit until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Create a well in the center and add melted butter, eggs, and yeast mixture. Mix until combined.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Let rise in an oiled bowl covered with a cloth for about an hour.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread with softened butter, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Roll tightly, slice into thick rolls, and place in a greased baking dish. Let rise for another 30 minutes.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. While cooling, whip together cream cheese frosting ingredients and drizzle over warm rolls.
