Description

Chocolate Meringue Easter Nests are a delightful spring treat featuring a crispy meringue shell filled with rich chocolate, perfect for festive gatherings and family celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large egg whites (room temperature)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (preferably super-fine)
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (sifted)
  • 4 oz dark chocolate (high-quality, melted)
  • Mini eggs or candy-coated chocolates (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 225°F (110°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a clean bowl, whip the egg whites on medium speed until frothy. Gradually add sugar and whisk until stiff peaks form, about 5 minutes.
  3. Gently fold in sifted cocoa powder until fully combined, being careful not to deflate the meringue.
  4. Scoop dollops of meringue onto baking sheets and create wells in each mound with a spoon.
  5. Bake for 1 hour until dry and crisp; turn off the oven and let nests cool inside.
  6. Fill cooled nests with melted dark chocolate and top with mini eggs or candies.
