Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (divided)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened (divided)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and ¼ cup sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Gradually mix in flour and melted butter until combined. Knead on a floured surface for about 6-8 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle (¼ inch thick), spread remaining butter, sprinkle with the rest of the sugar and cinnamon, then scatter chopped strawberries on top.
  5. Roll tightly from one edge to form a log and cut into 12 even slices. Place them in a greased baking dish.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. While baking, prepare frosting by whisking cream cheese, remaining butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  8. Drizzle cream cheese frosting over warm rolls before serving.
