  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 fat content)
  • 4 soft corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup chopped iceberg or romaine lettuce
  • 1 cup diced fresh tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions (red preferred)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil (olive or vegetable)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add cooking oil.
  2. Add ground beef to the skillet and break it apart with a spatula. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. Cook undisturbed until browned on one side (about 3–4 minutes), then smash down each portion firmly to create a crust.
  4. Once both sides are crispy, sprinkle cheese on top and cover with a lid to melt (about 1–2 minutes).
  5. Meanwhile, warm tortillas in another skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.
  6. Assemble tacos by placing each cheesy patty onto a tortilla and adding desired toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and sour cream.
