  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning

Instructions

  1. 1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  2. 2. Sauté onions in the same skillet until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute.
  3. 3. In a slow cooker, combine browned meat, sautéed onions and garlic, black beans, kidney beans, diced tomatoes (with juices), and taco seasoning. Mix well.
  4. 4. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
  5. 5. Serve hot with your favorite toppings like cheese or avocado.
