  • 4 oz kunafa (knafeh) dough
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Honey or syrup (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan lightly.
  2. Shred kunafa dough and mix with melted butter until well-coated.
  3. In a bowl, combine melted butter and sugar until smooth. Whisk in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  4. Sift cocoa powder, flour, and baking powder together; fold into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Gently mix in chopped pistachios.
  6. Layer half of the brownie batter in the prepared pan, followed by half of the kunafa mixture, then the remaining brownie batter topped with the rest of the kunafa.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool slightly before slicing.
