Nutella Macarons are a heavenly fusion of crunchy shells and rich chocolate hazelnut filling.   • 1 cup almond flour (100g)
  • 1 ¾ cups icing sugar (220g)
  • 3 large egg whites (90g)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (100g)
  • ½ cup Nutella (150g)
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Sift together almond flour and icing sugar in a bowl twice to remove lumps.
  3. Whip egg whites in a clean bowl until foamy; gradually add granulated sugar, continuing to beat until glossy peaks form (5-7 minutes).
  4. If using food coloring, gently fold it into the meringue.
  5. Fold the dry ingredients into the meringue until just combined; transfer to a piping bag and pipe small rounds onto prepared sheets.
  6. Bake one tray at a time for 15-20 minutes until shells are firm but slightly soft in the center. Cool completely before removing.
  7. Stir Nutella until smooth; optionally mix in whipped cream for fluffiness.
  8. Pair macaron shells by size, spread Nutella on one half, and top with another shell.
