  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying (enough to fill the pan about 2 inches deep)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Cut the mozzarella into 3–4 inch sticks.
  2. Set up a breading station: flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs in a third.
  3. Dredge each cheese stick in flour, dip it in egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Freeze breaded sticks on a parchment-lined baking sheet for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry mozzarella sticks until golden brown (about 1–2 minutes per side).
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve with warm marinara sauce.
