  • 12 slider buns
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 lb Italian sausage (sweet or spicy)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and Italian sausage; cook until browned (about 8-10 minutes). Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer on low for a few minutes.
  4. Slice slider buns in half and place the bottom halves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Spoon the meat mixture onto each bun half. Top with mozzarella slices and sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
  6. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 10 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven, add fresh basil, then place the top buns back on before serving.
