Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas and carrots)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 pre-made pie crusts
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic until soft.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, frozen mixed vegetables, and beef broth; simmer for about five minutes.
  4. Place one pie crust into a pie dish and fill it with the beef mixture. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top before covering with the second pie crust.
  5. Cut slits in the top crust for steam to escape and bake for 30–35 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

  •  For an extra kick, add diced bell peppers or mushrooms to the beef mixture.
  •  You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  •  Hamburger pie can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to two days before baking.
