  • 200g sweetened condensed milk (about 1 cup)
  • 150g light brown sugar (3/4 cup)
  • 100g unsalted butter (1/2 cup)
  • 150g dark chocolate chips (about 1 cup)
  • Sea salt flakes (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Crush the Walkers Shortbread cookies into fine crumbs and mix with melted butter. Press firmly into the bottom of the pan and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden.
  3. In a saucepan, combine sweetened condensed milk, brown sugar, and butter over medium heat. Stir continuously until it reaches a gentle boil and thickens slightly (about 5 minutes).
  4. Pour the caramel over the baked shortbread layer and let cool for 30 minutes.
  5. Melt dark chocolate chips in increments in the microwave until smooth, then pour over the cooled caramel layer. Sprinkle sea salt on top while warm.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting into squares.
