  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, nutmeg, and cinnamon; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; mix until combined.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  5. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls onto prepared sheets, spacing them evenly. Bake for about 10 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
  6. While cooling, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth for frosting.
  7. Once cookies are cool, apply the cream cheese frosting generously.
