Description

Flan is a creamy, dreamy dessert that will wow your guests with its silky texture and luscious caramel topping. This easy flan recipe is sure to become a favorite at gatherings.


Ingredients

  • Whole Milk
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Eggs
  • Pure Vanilla Extract
  • Lemon Zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt 1 cup of sugar until golden brown to create caramel. Pour into a round baking dish and swirl to coat the bottom.
  3. Whisk together 4 eggs in a mixing bowl until frothy. Add 1 can of sweetened condensed milk, 1 can of evaporated milk, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, and lemon zest. Mix until smooth.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the hardened caramel in the baking dish; do not stir.
  5. Place the baking dish in a larger roasting pan filled with hot water halfway up the sides of your dish.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let cool at room temperature before chilling in the fridge for at least 4 hours. To serve, run a knife around the edges and invert onto a plate.
