  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup espresso coffee (cooled)
  • 12 ladyfingers
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate shavings (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brew espresso and let it cool slightly.
  2. In a bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  3. In another bowl, combine mascarpone cheese and sugar until smooth.
  4. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
  5. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso.
  6. Layer dipped ladyfingers in a serving dish and spread half of the mascarpone mixture over them.
  7. Repeat with another layer of ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture on top.
  8. Dust cocoa powder over the top layer and add dark chocolate shavings if desired.
  9. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving.
